Note from Alison - Mindy's Foster Mom:
Mindy has been with me for a few weeks now and after a couple days of initial shyness she has really come out of her shell. Her sweet disposition is now shining through. She is my first cocker and the easiest dog I have every lived with. No accidents, no begging, no jumping on the bed and no chewing. She is a dream.
We try to walk a few miles every night and she is fantastic on the leash. She greets all the neighbors and neighborhood dogs with a wagging tail and never barks or acts aggressively even when the other dogs bark at her. Our first trip to the National Park resulted in an unprompted dip in the ocean. She loved it!
On weekends we do errands together and she curls up on the car seat for long naps. Car rides and walks are her favorite treats. She also enjoys visiting the office with me so everyone can make a big deal about her. We have an office cat that tries to antagonize her but Mindy does not bark or chase the cat at all (much to the cat’s disappointment I think).
If I was home more often I would keep Mindy permanently but I believe she deserves a family that can give her more attention than I can right now. She is never happier than when she is being scratched and petted and fussed over and I want her to have as much of that as she can get.
Mindy will bring great joy to her forever family.
